Here we are just sixteen days until Christmas. We are all busy shopping, going to Christmas programs, and here at Cow Polk's Leather we are working hard to get custom leathers ready for our customers. I love the decorations, and the nip in the air. It really is beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

If someone you know is looking for leathers for Christmas, Cow Polk's is just the place to go. We have good leather jackets starting at $99. One of the most popular is the #1010, for just $149.95.
Don't forget to get a vest. We have good quality leather vests for men and women. And just ask, and we'll throw in a bottle of leather conditioner with any order over $50.00.

Everyone have a wonderful Christmas, and remember Jesus is the reason for the season.

Fall

Summer is just about over. Kids are back in school. Labor Day activities are planned. That means we'll soon be seeing cooler temperatures. For those times be sure to get your jackets and chaps. They will feel great with the cooler temperatures. On the 6000 mile trip we did this summer, we put our leathers to good use. We were very thankful for them as we rode on the Oregon coastline.
We are running a 10% off sale until the end of September. And of course our shipping is still just $5.00

Daytona Bike Week

This winter has been long and cold, but we know it's about over because it is time for Daytona Bike Week! We will be heading down this week to set up with the Florida GWRRA. As we have done for the past seven years we will be set up selling our quality leather at the New Smyrna Beach Airport. There is no entry fee to visit the Vendor Get Away, sponsored by the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. So if you are at Bike Week, come by and see us. There will be other vendors there, such as TJ and the Boss pinstriping, Kowboy Korner embroidery, and many more. All bikes are welcome. There is always a good variety of vendors there.

We are looking forward to the warmer weather, visiting with many of our friends and meeting new customers. Come by and say "hello Cow Polk's!"

Christmas

Thanksgiving is behind us. What a time it was! All nine grandchildren were here, and lots and lots of good food! Now the rush is on! Christmas is just around the corner, and we are all scurrying around to get everything on our list accomplished. Here in our store we have custom orders to get out, and of course a high demand for the quality leather products in our store, and on line. We will do everything we can to ensure timely delivery. And all ups ground shipping is just $5.00!
Also, we have 15% off of all orders if you mention reading it on this blog. Some of the most popular men's jackets to check out--SH1010, the vented scooter jacket! Wow, what a great jacket! Also, the 903--the vented traditional motorcycle jacket. Both of these run $149.95 regular price on line!
Have a Merry Christmas and remember--keep Christ in Christmas!!!

Fall is coming

Well, fall is just about here, and it has been a welcome change. Ten or twenty degrees cooler makes much nicer riding than the 100 degree temperatures we had been having. We went on a ride Sunday afternoon to Siloam Springs and across Hwy 16 to Fayetteville, then down scenic 71 highway. It was a great ride, and so little traffic!

October 5 & 6 we will be in Stillwater, Oklahoma for the Oklahoma State GWRRA Rally.
It is held at the Payne County Expo Center. Come by and visit us if you are in the area. There will be other vendors there , and we will be selling our great quality leather products. We will be inside, and there will be some vendors outside. This is always a fun rally, and the theme this year is "Hallo Wing". There is no telling what this Oklahoma group will do to make the weekend very entertaining.

We still have 15% off of our jackets on line if you tell us you read about on the blog.

On the Road Again...

We have been home for a little while now. And so it's time to do the last few motorcycle rallies for the year. The first place we will be going is to the small town of Circleville, WV for the Mountainman Rally. We will be set up there selling leather products August 2-4. As usual, we will have a good selection of quality leather products, and also will be selling and sewing patches. This is a first time rally for the town, and we are very excited about it. More info about the rally can be found at www.mountainmanrally.com. We also plan to do some sight seeing in that area while we are there. We have never been to West Virginia, Maryland or Pennsylvania, and plan to take in the sights.

Just Riding

Between the weather and our hectic schedule, we have not been able to ride as much as we would like this spring. This weekend we finally got a chance to get on the bike and just ride. We left Alma, Arkansas Saturday morning with another couple, and rode to Hwy 23, "The Pig Trail". What a great ride! The twisties are just right, and the traffic was light. After that we hit Hwy 16 east to Hwy 7 and rode up to Harrison. Then we headed east on 14 to the Peel Ferry. That was a first for us. We took the ferry across to Missouri, and rode some great sweeping curves up there before heading back west to Branson, and back to Harrison. Just outside of Harrison, at the site of the old Dog Patch amusement park is "The Hub". It has been turned into a biker retreat. What a great atmosphere.
Just sitting around in the evening talking to other bikers until bed time!

The next day we rode to Eureka Springs, and on to the little town of Beaver, home of the Arkansas Golden Gate Bridge. It is a unique site, that few people know about. After a rest, and some picture taking, we were off again, back through Eureka Springs, and heading to War Eagle Mill. There you can watch them grind at the mill, buy your freshly ground wheat, etc. or eat a wonderful meal. Their breakfast is especially good, but we also liked their soup and sandwiches.

After that it was time to start toward home...taking the long way of course. We were about 30 miles from home when we spotted that big dark rain cloud. We had dodged rain all weekend, but it got us that time. We put on our Frogg Toggs (which we see at Cow Polk's) and headed to the first covered rest area. How surprised we were to find some of our friends there waiting it out too. We got to visit with them around 45 minutes as we waited for the sky to clear. Finally, it cleared up and we were home. The weekend was wonderful, too short of course. Now we're ready to do it again. Unfortunately, we work most Saturdays, so it is just something to look forward to in the future.

In a few weeks we will be doing some good riding again, as we will be at the International Volusia Rally in Eureka Springs. This is a rally especially for Suzuki Volusia and Boulevard riders, but all bikes are welcome. We no longer have our Volusia, but we look forward to the visit and rides with our friends we have met over the years. For more information about the rally you can call us here at 479-474-0332.

Spring is coming

Christmas is past us now, and we are in the new year. Spring is just around the corner, and with that our new rally schedule. The first rally for the year is always Daytona Bike Week where we will be set up at the Gold Wing Vendor Getaway. Held at the New Smyrna Beach Airport, we will be set up with our tent, and our gold and red "Cowpolk's Leather" sign. We will be there March 2-10, 9:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m.

We have our regular quality leather, not cheaper "rally leather" as some vendors carry. We want to serve our customers on the road the same way we serve the customers in our store, offering the best quality for the best price. We will also be selling patches and sewing on site.

Hope to see some of you there. Tell us you read our blog and receive 15% discount!

Leather Gifts

We are now about to enter into the Christmas season. If a leather motorcycle jacket is on your list, you've come to the right place. Our jackets, chaps, and vests are great quality for a reasonable price. For the next few weeks I will be featuring a popular leather jacket and offering specials through the blog only.

One of our best selling men's jackets is the 1010 scooter jacket. This great leather jacket has a zip- out liner, vents, shoulder patches, and lower kidney back. This is a favorite here in our store.

Through the month of November if you order this jacket, type in the words "BLOG SALE" in the comments, and you will receive 15% off the regular price.

CMA Rally

October is the end of rally season for us, and our final rally is going to be the CMA Changing of the Colors Rally in Hatfield, Arkansas. The date is October 19-21, and we will actually be set up in Mena on Hwy 71 at the last traffic light going south.

We will be set up in our white tent with our bright yellow and red sign out front. There we will have some of our great leather motorcycle jackets, chaps, vest, and lots of extras. It is always great fun to visit with folks that come by to see us. If we can help you get your leathers for those cold morning rides, we would love to.

That is a great area for motorcycle rides, especially over the beautiful Talimena National Scenic Byway. At the top of the mountain is the Queen Wilhelmina State Park. So hop on your bike and head down to see us at Mena, Arkansas.
